This week, we are focusing more on autumn events, with Botildenborg’s Harvest Festival providing the setting for some of the final activities of late summer.
As you can also read below, the pavilion in Kungsparken—formerly the casino—is opening its doors to give Malmö residents and visitors a taste of what a future art museum could offer.
But first, it is time for this year’s Nordisk Panorama Film Festival. The festival aims to strengthen Nordic film culture and make it accessible to a wider audience.
The festival runs from 17 to 22 September and includes film screenings, talks, concerts and much more.
Events will take place at 25 different venues across the city—including hotels, schools, restaurants, libraries, Folkets Park and cinemas—and at various times. Some events are free, while others require a ticket.

Moderna Museet continues its guided tours for parents with babies on Wednesday, 16 September, at 11:15 and 13:15.
On Thursday, 17 September, there will also be a dog life-drawing workshop on the museum’s outdoor terrace at 17:00.

On Friday, 18 September, Malmö FF will play Djurgårdens IF in the OBOS Damallsvenskan, Sweden’s top women’s football league.

On Saturday, 19 September, the Farmers’ Market returns to Drottningtorget from 09:00 to 13:00.

A new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s Ghosts premieres at Hippodromen on 19 September.
Directed by Timofey Kuliabin, the classic is given a contemporary and visually striking form in which guilt, shame and inherited secrets rise to the surface. The drama is transformed into an intense exploration of memory, responsibility and truth.
The performance lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes without an interval and is recommended for audiences aged 15 and over. Audio description will be available on Friday, 2 October.

Botildenborg is celebrating with a Harvest Festival on Saturday, 19 September.
It will be a day filled with culinary experiences, music, workshops and activities for the whole family. There will also be locally produced food and crafts, exhibitors, live music, gardening, refreshments and meals.

Astronomy Day and Night is a nationwide space festival celebrated throughout Sweden. At Malmö Museum, the day will be filled with activities for all ages.

It is now possible to visit the restaurant pavilion in Kungsparken, where a new and vibrant meeting place is being created in the heart of the city. With art at its centre, a new art museum is gradually taking shape through activities and unexpected experiences for all ages. On Sunday, 20 September, “From Broadway to Duvemåla” will be performed at Malmö Live Concert Hall.
Over the years, audiences have been taken on a journey through the history of musical theatre—from iconic Broadway classics to Swedish musical treasures such as Kristina från Duvemåla. Now it is time once again.
The performance begins at 16:00 and lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes without an interval. It is recommended for audiences aged 13 and over.
