Here is this week’s hospitality newsletter with our tips for events taking place over the next few days.
From Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September, it is finally time for the Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games in Malmö. This will be Sweden’s largest-ever sporting event for Swedish and international athletes with intellectual disabilities.
The various sports competitions will take place at venues across Malmö, although most of them will be held in the Malmö Stadion area.
In addition to watching the competitions, visitors can explore the activity area, try different activities, meet the mascot Speci-Lo and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere with family and friends.
Admission is free, and no accreditation is required to attend the event.
On Friday 4 September at 8:30 pm, the grand opening ceremony of Special Olympics Sweden will take place in Folkets Park. The ceremony is open to the public and admission is free.
On Friday and Saturday, 4–5 September, it is also time for the Malmö Arena Cup – a brand-new pre-season ice hockey tournament featuring Malmö Redhawks, Linköping HC, Örebro HK and HV71, who will compete at Malmö Arena for the prestigious inaugural title.

The September Festival will take place on 4 and 5 September at Skivstallet, Borrbackevägen 192 in Klagshamn. Although it is a local event, everyone is welcome.
Both days will feature live music, cultural performances, food and drink experiences, and activities for children, young people and adults.
Opening hours: Friday 3:00 pm–1:00 am, After Work 5:00–7:00 pm; Saturday 11:00 am–1:00 am.

On 5 September from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, it is time for the Mitt Möllan Market. This time, it is the K-rea Market – a creative clearance market where previous collections, seconds, samples, second-hand items and other lovely things deserving a new home will be on sale.
On Saturday 5 September, the Farmers’ Market returns to Drottningtorget from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Visitors can buy locally grown, organic and small-scale produce.

On Sunday 6 September from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, there will be a Harvest Market at Katrinetorp. The courtyard will be filled with market stalls and exhibitors selling vegetables, eggs, fruit, cordial, jam, apple juice and honey.
There will also be a carousel and activities for children, pony rides, animals from 4H to pet, and dancing. The main building will be open. Admission is free.
Why not take the vintage bus to Katrinetorp? The bus is free, but as the buses are old, the steps may be quite high. There may therefore be several steps to climb when boarding. There is room for a pushchair.
Beech Forest Day will be celebrated in Torup on Sunday 6 September from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This year’s theme is “The Value of the Forest”. Food and refreshments will be available to buy. The day will offer a wide range of activities, including a climbing wall, quiz trail, air-rifle and VR shooting, art, talks, storytelling sessions and much more.
