Happenings in Malmö this week

17 Aug, 2026

Swimming advisory

Unfortunately, swimming is still not recommended at certain locations in Malmö. The advisory remains in place until further notice due to algal blooms.

The swimming advisory applies to Ribersborg Beach, Sibbarp, Sundspromenaden and Scaniabadet in Västra Hamnen, as well as Klagshamn Beach.

As algal blooms can move quickly, there is no guarantee as to how long the swimming advisory will remain in effect. The affected bathing areas are marked with signs advising against swimming and with a black flag.
