In addition to its exciting program during Malmö Gallery Weekend, Moderna Museet also opens a new exhibition with a vernissage on the first day of the weekend, September 26: With Best Regards, Lee Mingwei.
Lee Mingwei’s artworks begin with an invitation. It could be an invitation to write a letter, bring a garment that needs mending, or a textile object made by someone with special meaning – and let it become part of the exhibition. The everyday and the personal are given space and attention. The artist’s material is relationships and time. The situations Lee Mingwei creates are based on personal experiences and events that take on new form and context. His works open up possibilities for giving, receiving, and sharing.
